WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
It started just after our second baby arrived.
Family OS started just after our second baby arrived. My husband was home on paternity leave, running the whole household while I recovered — and somewhere between the laundry and the meal prepping he looked up and said:
“This is a lot of work.”
Around the same time, a friend asked how we were managing it all. My honest answer? The biggest game-changer was him emptying the dishwasher every morning. I’d never noticed how much space that one small task took up in my head — or how simple it was to hand it over.
None of it was hard. All of it was constant. And because it happened quietly, before anyone else noticed it needed doing, it was almost impossible to share — you can't hand over a task nobody knows exists.
Then another friend started building her own app, and something clicked: I could do this too. I suddenly had the time — because we were sharing tasks more intentionally at home, and had handed a few things over entirely: the dog walks, some of the laundry, the cleaning. We even experimented with outsourcing dinner.
Family OS was built during nap times, out of small everyday discoveries: the invisible work gets lighter the moment you can see it — and sharing it isn’t a negotiation. It’s a relief.
Who we are
A small Danish company, started by a mum of two who wanted the invisible work in her own home to finally be seen.
What we do
We make the family’s mental load visible and shareable — so the work of running a home can be genuinely held together.
Our mission
That every parent ends the day feeling seen and appreciated — never scored.
